Giant sunspot 4446 was first spotted a week ago on the far side of the Sun by the ESO Solar Orbiter spacecraft. A week later, the rotation of the Sun has carried it around the solar limb and into view. Although slightly reduced in size, this spot (left hand side) is still very active, as can be seen by the tracery of lighter filaments following it around the solar limb.
