Giant sunspot group 4079 as seen on the 6th May 2025

Accompanied by many smaller spots, sunspot group 4079 (right of centre) is one of the largest of this solar cycle. Covering an area the size of Jupiter, this long-lived sunspot group first appeared in April and is seen here on its second trip around the Sun. Imaged using a ZWO Seestar S30 with solar filter.
