Aims of the Society
Stirling Astronomical Society (Scottish Charity SC 032272) is open to all those aged 11 or over who have an interest in astronomy.
We welcome beginners, experienced observers, and anyone with an interest in any aspect of astronomy such as variable stars, comets, aurorae, meteors or space science.
Lectures
Stirling Astronomical Society meets from September to May during the year.
Stirling venue: Stirling Highland Hotel, Spittal St, Stirling FK8 1DU.
Lectures are held on the second Friday of each month, beginning at 7:30pm.
These public lectures are free and anyone with an interest in astronomy is welcome to attend, whether a Member of the Society or not.
Members' evenings
Stirling Astronomical Society holds informal Members' Evenings on the last Friday of each month from October to May with occasional additional meetings over the summer break. These take place at the Stirling Highland Hotel, Spittal St, Stirling FK8 1DU, from 7:30 to 9:30pm.
Evening classes
Stirling Astronomical Society regularly runs a series of Evening Classes in Stirling. These are open to anyone over 11 years old with an interest in Astronomy and subjects vary in each course. Classes run once a month from October to March on Thursday evenings at the Stirling Highland Hotel, Spittal St, Stirling FK8 1DU 7:00 to 9:00pm.
