At a distance of 2900 light years from Earth, NGC 7822 is a star-forming region in the constellation of Cepheus. The region is illuminated by energetic radiation from the very hot star BD+66 1673 and contains pillars of gas and dust where young stars and potentially planetary systems are being formed. Image taken in Hydrogen-α using narrowband filters.
