Stirling Astronomical Society Gallery

The Western Veil Nebula in Cygnus is made up of a number of delicate structures. The Witch's Broom at the top of the image contains the bright star 52 Cygni. Running across the centre is Pickering's Triangle (also known as Pickering's Wedge). The red colour in this image comes from Hydrogen-α emissions and the blue from Oxygen (OIII). Imaged using a dual narrowband filter.
