Waxing Moon Day 12

The waxing Moon, three days before full. Bright rays from the large southern crater Tycho cross the whole face of the Moon, and rays from craters Copernicus and Kepler (left of centre) contrast against the darker surfaces of Oceanus Procellarum and Mare Imbrium. At the 10 o'clock position on the left limb, bright crater Aristarchus is highlighted by the rising Sun, together with its nework of rilles.
