An astroimaging favourite, the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros is part of a star-forming region which also contains an open cluster of newly-formed stars. In this image taken using narrowband filters, the red Hydrogen-α emissions from the gas cloud forming the nebula itself can be seen surrounding the bright young stars at the centre.
